Napoli reject Manchester City bid for Reina

Manchester City have had a £2.6m bid for goalkeeper Pepe Reina rejected by Napoli, according to the Mirror.

The Citizens are on the lookout for a new shot-shopper to provide back up for recent signing Ederson, with Claudio Bravo heading towards the Etihad Stadium exit door along with Joe Hart while Willy Cabarlero moved to Chelsea last month.

Bravo had an indifferent first season in England last year, playing just thirty appearances in all competitions with Cabalero racking up almost as many.

Napoli have shunned City’s initial offer for Reina but may be tempted to let him leave at the right price, which could be in the region of £4.5m.

Reina has played ninety-two times for the Serie A outfit since signing from Bayern Munich two years ago while he also made forty-three appearances for them in a loan spell during the 2013/14 campaign whilch came after an eight year spell with Liverpool.
