Napoli rekindle interest in Darmian

Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Napoli are set to make a move on Torino star Matteo Darmian.

The Azzurri did well to reinforce their ranks with Ivan Strinic and Manolo Gabbiadini, but they plan to recruit a couple of more players in January.

And with Christian Maggio and Giandomenico Mesto both out of contract in the summer, signing a right-sided defender is a new priority.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Italy international defender Matteo Darmian has emerged as the primary target for the Azzurri.

The problem is that he is also on the radar of few more Serie A sides, but Napoli hope they can win the chase for the footballer’s signature.

Darmian, 25, has seen his stock rise a great deal over the last year or so, and he has earned 9 Italy caps since making his debut back in May 2014.

The full-back had come through the ranks at AC Milan, but his career only really kicked off after a move to Torino.
