According to a recent report from Tuttosport, Italian giants Napoli are preparing to spend around £200 million in the summer transfer window in order to try and end Juventus’ reign at the top of Serie A. The belief is that the sales of Marek Hamsik, Dries Mertens and potentially even Allan could lead to them raising enough funds to bring in some seriously big names. Napoli finished just four points behind Juve last season, but given that they’re already nine points behind this time around, it certainly seems as if they’re moving in the wrong direction with their current squad.
Building a team that is capable of dethroning a juggernaut like The Old Lady is certainly easier said than done, but after a few years of near misses, it definitely seems like they’re more motivated than ever to make some noise domestically.
Napoli will return to action this weekend with a trip to take on Fiorentina.
