Italian giants Napoli are on the verge of signing Spanish goalkeeper Antonio Doblas, Il Corriere dello Sport has revealed.
The Azzurri were forced to act after second choice keeper Rafael Cabral picked up a serious knee injury in the Europa League clash against Swansea.
And since the winter transfer window has been closed, Napoli can only sign a free agent as a cover for Pepe Reina.
Even if German shot-stopper Tim Wiese has been mentioned as their primary target, it appears the Azzurri are set to sign former Real Betis goalkeeper Toni Doblas.
The 33-year-old has been released by Khazar Lenkoran and he is currently undergoing a medical at Stadio San Paolo before signing a deal until the end of the season.
Toni Doblas has spent the majority of his professional career in Spain, playing for Real Betis, Xerez, Real Zaragoza and Huesca, while spending the 2012/2013 season in Azerbaijan.
