Serie A giants Napoli are readying bid for Cagliari defender Davide Astori, according to Tuttosport.
The Azzurri have been on the lookout for a new central defender for a while now, and they have recently been showing interest in Liverpool’s Martin Skrtel.
However, with the Slovakia international demanding a €4 million yearly wage, Napoli have cooled off interest in Skrtel and turned their attention to Davide Astori.
The Italy international is currently earning mere €1 million per campaign at Cagliari, with the Azurri hoping Isolani would seriously consider their €13 million offer.
Davide Astori has seen his stock rise a great deal over the last couple of years and he is currently regarded as one of Serie A’s top central defenders.
The 26-year-old has already amassed 140 Serie A appearances, while he has four Italy caps to his name, and was on the scoresheet as the Azzurri won a third-place play-off against Uruguay at the 2013 Confederations Cup.
