Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Napoli are hot on the trail of Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin.
The Azzurri plan to sign a long-term successor to veteran Pepe Reina in the near future and the Italy international has emerged as their top target.
The Napoli and Genoa presidents De Laurentiis and Preziosi have already spoken about Perin on several occasions, while the latest reports suggest that the 24-year-old is keen on moving to Stadio San Paolo.
A January transfer does not seem likely, but there is a good chance Perin will be joining the Azzurri at the end of the season.
The talented shot-stopper already has 139 Serie A appearances to his name, while he has earned one Italy cap.
Perin missed the Euro 2016 finals through injury, but has since returned into action and went on to make 15 outings in the current league campaign.
