Serie A giants Napoli are stepping up their efforts to sign Portuguese goalkeeper Rui Patricio from Sporting CP, according to A Bola.
The Azzurri have elected the Portugal international as a perfect successor to AC Milan bound Pepe Reina and they are now readying the first formal proposal.
A Bola claims that Napoli plan to offer between €15m and €20m for the highly rated shot-stopper, while the Lions are holding out for €35 million.
Nevertheless, with Sporting CP chairman Bruno de Carvalho eager to cash in on the player who publicly criticised his leadership abilities, Napoli may be offered a discount.
Rui Patricio has long resisted temptation to leave the Lions for greener pastures, but recent developments appear to have helped him change his mind.
