Napoli have launched a fresh assault on Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Azzurri have been alerted by the player’s availability and they are currently trying to agree a loan deal with an option to buy.
And while Manchester City are ready to offload the Serbian centre-back, they reportedly want €3 million for the season-long loan and plan to set the buy-out clause to €12 million.
Napoli boss Rafael Benitez is a big fan of the player and wants to lure him to Stadio San Paolo as soon as possible, meaning the club chiefs could agree to said terms.
Matija Nastasic, 21, joined the Citizens from Fiorentina as one of Europe’s hottest prospects and went on to make 34 Premier League appearances for the club.
However, a knee injury saw him fall behind Martin Demichelis and Dedryk Boyata in the pecking order, with Manuel Pellegrini confirming the Serb was expected to leave City this summer.
