Real Madrid striker Mariano could be on his way out of Santiago Bernabeu mere months after returning to Los Blancos.
Mariano has not seen much competitive action at Real Madrid since returning from Lyon this summer, making four La Liga appearances and failing to get his name on the score sheet.
Julen Lopetegui used his No.7 sporadically in the Champions League with Mariano amassing the total of 54 minutes in Europe’s elite competition. Less than an hour was, however, enough for the 25-year-old to score a goal – in his team’s 3-0 win over AS Roma.
Despite being given a limited opportunity at Real Madrid, Mariano is gaining plenty of attention and Corriere dello Sport claims that Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti is interested in bringing him to Italy during winter.
The Partenopei are looking to bolster their attacking options in order to launch a more competitive Scudetto challenge and Mariano has been identified as one of the desired targets – alongside Genoa sensation Krzysztof Piatek.
