Serie A hotshots Napoli have been on the lookout for a quality goalkeeping solution for a while.
With Pepe Reina leaving the club for AC Milan at the end of last season, the Partenopei have already brought in Alex Meret from SPAL but are forced to go for another shot stopper as the 21-year-old Italian broke a bone in his arm during the pre-season.
Another newcomer Orestis Karnezis looked rather shaky in the 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool and Napoli are now forced to make a late move for another goalkeeper.
David Ospina and Guillermo Ochoa have reportedly emerged as top transfer targets for Partenopei.
Sky Italia suggests that Napoli have already approached Arsenal but the negotiations do not appear to be going according to plan. The Partenopei are looking for a loan deal with an option to buy whereas the Gunners would rather sell their ‘keeper.
Ospina has been pushed down the pecking order with the arrival of Bernd Leno and is widely expected to leave the Emirates stadium this summer.
