The agent of Sao Paulo defender Bruno Uvini has revealed that Napoli are keeping tabs on his client.
The Brazilian defender has been followed by the Serie A side for a while now and the Azzurri were expected to make an official bid this summer.
Brazilian newspaper Diario de Sao Paulo yesterday announced that Bruno Uvini had signed for the San Paolo outfit, but the player’s representative has moved to deny the reports.
“The operation has not been concluded yet,” agent Stefano Castagna told Radio Marte.
“Uvini is a young lad and Napoli are tracking him, but he’s not an Azzurro player yet. It will take more time and there are two weeks until the end of the transfer market.”
Castagna is, nonetheless, hoping that the move to Italian Serie A will become a reality.
“We have a good rapport with Napoli and he is one of the five or six Brazilian defenders they are looking at.
“Naturally, Napoli would be a very welcome destination and we hope it goes through. They represent the best prospect for us.”
Despite making just 8 first team appearances for Sao Paulo, Uvini is widely regarded as one of the most talented defenders in Brazil.
The player spent the second part of last season on loan at Tottenham with a view to making the transfer permanent, but Spurs ultimately opted against purchasing the player outright.
Uvini has represented Brazil national team on three occasions, while making another appearance for Seleccao at the 2012 London Olympics.
