Italian daily Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Napoli are stepping up their efforts to sign Valencia defender Adil Rami.
The Azzurri are desperate to sign a high-profile centre-back with Hugo Campagnaro set to depart for Inter Milan.
Napoli have been linked with a number of players in the past few weeks, but it appears they have made Valencia’s Adil Rami their number one target.
The France international has made it clear that he wants to leave Mestalla in the summer transfer window and it is believed he is tempted by the prospect of moving to Serie A.
For the time being, the two clubs are three million apart, but it is believed they would be able to reach an agreement eventually.
Adil Rami has established himself as one of Europe’s top defenders since joining Valencia from Lille, making a total of 58 La Liga appearances and scoring 2 goals.
