PSV Eindhoven will be without Luciano Narsingh for between six and nine months after the Netherlands international underwent knee surgery.
The attacker suffered cruciate ligament damage and a meniscus injury in PSV’s 6-1 win over NAC in their last match ahead of the winter break, but his physical problems initially went unnoticed.
Further examinations after Narsingh returned from his holiday revealed the knee injury, and the winger successfully went under the knife on Wednesday.
The Eindhoven side have confirmed on their official website that Narsingh faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines, and will be unavailable for the remainder of the 2012/13 campaign.
Narsingh, 22, joined PSV from Heerenveen last July, and has since scored six goals in 18 Eredivisie appearances.
