Competition: MLS
Market: Nashville win
Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport
Smelling a chance to extend on what has been a real romp on home soil, Nashville will welcome Atlanta to the Nissan Stadium in the early hours of Friday morning.
Starting with the hosts, despite getting hit with that 2-0 defeat against the New York Red Bulls when returning from the international break, Nashville have bounced back in some style. Putting on another professional display last time out and picking up what was a hugely impressive 1-0 win against Philadelphia on home soil, Gary Smith’s side are tipped as a landslide pick to clinch another Final Series spot in the Eastern Conference. With just a single defeat since opening the 2021 campaign and continuing to gain a string of plaudits from across the MLS, The Yellows have also continued to catch the eye with their performances in Tennessee. Including that 1-0 victory against The Union last time out, Nashville have 13 points from their last five matchups at the Nissan Stadium, a run highlighted by a stellar 2-0 win against New England back on May 8th.
As for the visitors, while the mood in Nashville’s camp should be at a real high, the same cannot be said for an Atlanta side who have shown a host of issues since opening the 2021 campaign. Only slipping further away from the Final Series spots, the former MLS champions have really failed to find their feet under their new boss, Gabriel Heinze. Putting in what was billed as a season-worst display last weekend, the one-time Manchester United defender saw his side get with a woeful 3-0 drumming at the hands of Chicago. Without a win to their name since the middle of May and still yet to record a victory on the road this campaign, Atlanta have also gained a reputation for their recent issues in front of goal. Failing to find the net in any of their last three contests on the spin, we’re backing a home win here.
