Major League Soccer season has just ended for the 2019 campaign, but the clubs are already preparing for new challenges that are ahead. Nashville SC are a particularly interesting team, as they are one of two new franchises which will join the MLS circuit next year. The season starts in March 2020 and Nashville are slowly building their roster in the meantime.
Now, MLS Soccer are reporting that Nashville have acquired midfielder Dax McCarty from the Chicago Fire and defender Dave Romney from Los Angeles Galaxy. These are of course separate trades, as Paul Tenorio previously reported for The Athletic.
McCarty is 32 years old and he is a veteran midfielder who has made 361 appearances in the league with FC Dallas, D.C. United, the New York Red Bulls and, most recently, the Fire. He won two Supporters’ Shields with the Red Bulls as a vital member of the team. Also, Romney will be an important player too, as the 26-year-old has spent the last five seasons with the LA Galaxy.
