Manchester City are set to reward star midfielder Samir Nasri with a new and improved contract, according to The Sun.
Following some under-par showings under Roberto Mancini, the Frenchman has shown a great deal of improvement since the arrival of Manuel Pellegrini.
And with the player’s current deal due to expire in June 2015, Manchester City are looking to extend his contract before the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The Citizens are aware their star player could be on the radar of Europe’s top clubs and are eager to tie him down to a new long-term deal as soon as possible.
Samir Nasri has made a total of 70 Premier League appearances for Manchester City since arriving from Arsenal and scored 11 goals in the process.
The 26-year-old has been in fine form this season, having managed 4 goals and as many assists in 22 Premier League outings, while netting once in six Champions League appearances.
