Nastasic completes permanent Schalke deal

Matija Nastasic has joined Schalke on a permanent deal from Manchester City, according to the Mail Online.

The 21 year old has been on loan with the Bundesliga outfit since the summer, and has so far racked up nine appearances for them in all competitions.

Prior to this season, the defender had played fifty times for City, while his last outing for the club came at Wembley back in August, when the Premier League champions were beaten 3-0 by FA Cup winners Arsenal in the Community Shield.

Schalke moved to activate a release clause in the former Fiorentina man’s contract, and he will begin a four year contract once his loan spell is complete.

Nastasic played the entire ninety minutes as Robert Di Matteo’s men beat Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the second leg of their Champions League last sixteen tie, though they crashed out of the competition 5-4 on aggregate.
