Sevilla’s Spain international winger Jesus Navas will resume training in around six weeks after undergoing surgery on his left ankle, the La Liga side announced on Thursday.
“We hope that he’ll be able to train fully in six weeks, but with this player the recovery time is often reduced thanks to his physical attributes and his desire,” said Dr Juan Ribas, head of the club’s medical staff.
Navas underwent surgery to “clean” his ankle and remove fragments of bone from around the joint.
The 24-year-old, a World Cup-winner with Spain in South Africa in July, sustained the injury in Sevilla’s 1-0 defeat at home to Paris Saint-Germain in the Europa League in mid-September.
