The future of Tanguy Ndombele with Tottenham Hotspur depends mostly on himself. That is at least what Sky Sports journalist Paul Gilmour believes.
Gilmour was asked about the situation surrounding the midfielder in a ‘Q&A’ video session, and he claims head coach Jose Mourinho, who recently criticized Ndombele quite publicly, is actually employing the ‘tough love’ approach on him because he believes in his quality. That is what the controversial Portuguese usually does with players whose talents he rates highly, which Ndombele should perceive as a compliment.
As far as the club goes, the people in charge see the player they’ve invested a lot of money in as a great asset and aren’t prepared to give up on him just yet. There is a great desire from all parties to get the best out of the 23-year-old French international, and Gilmour believes Ndombele will be a different player after a while.
But he also pointed out that much will depend on Ndombele himself and the way he reacts to Mourinho’s approach.
