Swansea defender Neil Taylor has admitted he may have to leave the club in search of first team football at the end of the season.
The Welshman was regarded as one of league’s top left-backs some two years ago before breaking his ankle in September 2012.
He has since successfully returned into action, but remains behind youngster Ben Davies in the pecking order.
Taylor was on the verge of joining Fulham on transfer deadline day in January, but Swansea ultimately rejected an offer from Craven Cottage.
And with the player making just six league appearances this season, it is hardly surprising he is pondering a summer exit.
“There was a bid for me from Fulham, it was rejected by the club and that is how football works and that’s it,” Taylor was quoted as saying in Daily Mirror.
“It was the club’s decision. If they had a price they would have sold me for then at least then I would have known I was not wanted or not needed. It would have made the decision for me.
“As you know my wife was giving birth on transfer deadline day, what was going on was at the back of my mind but I am settled here, I have a house here.
“But ultimately I want to play football and every player would tell you the same. I need games.”
The 25-year-old has more than two years left on his deal at Liberty Stadium, but everything suggests he will be leaving the Swans this summer after spending last four years at the club.
