Portuguese newspaper A Bola has revealed that Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic is set to be offered a new deal at Estadio da Luz.
The Serbian midfielder has done brilliantly to replace Javi Garcia in the heart of midfield, and has seen his name linked with top European clubs in the process.
A Bola understands that the 24-year-old will be offered a new and improved contract at Estadio da Luz, with his release clause also likely to be increased.
Matic currently has a contract until June 2015, with the buy-out clause standing at €20 million.
Benfica chiefs plan to reward the highly rated midfielder for some very good showings this season, but are also eager to raise the amount of his release clause so as to ward off interest from his suitors.
Nemanja Matic joined the club in the summer of 2011 from Chelsea, and has since made 23 Primeira Liga appearances for the Eagles, scoring 1 goal in the process.
