Italian defender Alessandro Nesta is in the verge of signing for Montreal Impact, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The veteran defender has been searching for a new club ever since he was release from his contract at Milan last month, but he hasn’t had a lot of success so far.
However, Il Corriere dello Sport claims Nesta has now agreed a one-year contract with MLS side Montreal Impact.
The Canadian side play their football in the Major League Soccer and they have recently signed Nesta’s compatriot Marco Di Vaio on a free transfer from Bologna.
Former Italian internationals Bernardo Corradi and Matteo Ferrari are also in the squad and it is believed the trio of players managed to convince the 36-year-old to join them this summer.
Nesta, who made 244 Serie A appearances during 10 seasons at Milan, is currently on vacation in Miami and is awaiting further developments regarding his future.
