Milan defender Alessandro Nesta is reportedly angry with the club chiefs following their latest contract offer.
The 34-year-old’s contract at Milan is due to expire at the end of the season and even though he had considered retiring at the end of the season, the veteran is now willing to play on for another year.
His agent met with Adriano Galliani on Monday to discuss the new deal, but La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Nesta is unhappy with how things are unfolding.
The Rossoneri reportedly offered Nesta €2.5 million per season to sign a new contract, but the player was insulted by that proposal, especially after the reports emerged that Milan have offered Philippe Mexes €4.5 million per season.
Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri still regards the veteran defender as a key element of the squad and he will try to persuade the club chiefs to improve their contract offer.
