(GSM) – Feyenoord remain dangerously close to the relegation zone in the Dutch Eredivisie following Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at AZ in Alkmaar.
Following their 3-0 win over VVV on Wednesday, Feyenoord hoped that this was the start of a better spell in the Dutch league.
But AZ clearly had different plans and took the lead through Brett Holman in the last minute before the break.
Italian Graziano Pelle added a second in the 61st minute.
Luc Castaignos then pulled one back eight minutes later but that wouldn’t be enough for Feyenoord as AZ kept the three points in Alkmaar and climb to sixth place as result.
Feyenoord remain stuck in 15th place, just two points ahead of the danger zone.
