(GSM) – Dutch Eredivisie leaders Twente did just enough to earn a 2-1 win over Excelsior and secure their top spot for at least another week.
Fans at Enschede’s Grolsch Veste stadium were in for an unwelcome surprise as Leendert van Steensel scored the opener for Excelsior after less than two minutes.
Nacer Chadli then leveled the score in the 26th minute and Marc Janko netted the winner with about 15 minutes to go in the second half.
Twente are now four points ahead of PSV and Ajax. PSV visit Utrecht on Sunday while Ajax host ADO Den Haag.
