Neuer hails Supercup boost

Manuel Neuer says Bayern Munich have the quality to beat anyone after defeating rivals Borussia Dortmund 2-1 on Sunday.

Bayern had lost their five previous encounters against reigning Bundesliga champions Dortmund before their DFL-Supercup victory, and Germany goalkeeper Neuer is now full of confidence.

“We have shown that we are ready for it, and that we can beat any team we face,” Neuer was quoted as saying by Bild.

Meanwhile, Franck Ribery has moved to underline the importance the Supercup win given Dortmund’s recent dominance over Bayern.

“This was an important game for Bayern,” he said.

“The win is a real confidence boost for us.”

Bayern get their new league season under way with a trip to promoted club Greuther Furth on Saturday.
