Manuel Neuer is set to extend his stay with Bayern Munich to 15 years by penning a new contract with the Bundesliga giants.
Neuer joined Bayern in 2011 and has gone on to make 541 appearances for the club in all competitions, the eighth-most among all players in their illustrious history.
The 2014 World Cup winner has made 357 of those appearances in the Bundesliga, the seventh-most of any goalkeeper, and has kept a record-breaking 167 clean sheets.
Neuer’s contract at the Allianz Arena is due to expire in June, but having re-established himself as Bayern’s number one after an injury-hit period, he is now set to stay.
“There’s nothing official at the moment,” he told Sport1 after Saturday’s 1-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.
“That’s for sure. But when the time comes, you will hear about it, and I would just say, it will be soon.”
