According to a recent report from Bild, Bayern Munich are in serious danger of losing goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. The popular German is currently under contract with the Bundesliga champions until the summer of 2021, but in recent weeks, talks have been underway regarding a potential extension.
Unfortunately, it appears as if those talks have “flatlined”. Neuer has been through his ups and downs over the years, but throughout that time, he has remained as one of the best goalkeepers in world football.
While there is still a year or so to go before Neuer would leave Bayern, that time seems to go incredibly quickly when it comes to a player’s contract running out.
Whether or not Bayern Munich would actually be willing to let him go remains to be seen, because as we all know, finding elite level goalkeepers is a difficult thing to do.
Will they take the risk? Only time will tell.
