Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Borussia Monchengladbach’s Florian Neuhaus, according to the Mirror.
The links between the 24-year-old Germany international and the Merseyside giants first appeared back in February, when it was reported that Liverpool would face a potential race against Manchester City for his services. The story had gone quiet since, but now, in the light of the confirmed departure of Georginio Wijnaldum from Anfield, they’ve come up again.
Six years younger than Wijnaldum, Neuhaus boasts some similar aspects of the game – technical ability which helps him retain the ball under pressure, but he tends to think more offensively than the experienced Dutchman, always looking to move the ball forwards and release runners with smart passes.
Neuhaus himself recently spoke about his future, saying he could stay at Gladbach a while longer, but he also wouldn’t rule out leaving the Borussia-Park this summer, either to join Bayern Munich or to move abroad.
“I am a person who likes to dare something. I could very well imagine going abroad. I don’t necessarily have to go to Bayern Munich,” he said.
