Barcelona have long been linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves, and according to Sport, the transfer of the 25-year-old Portugal international has already been agreed.
The Catalans need to think about replacing Sergio Busquets who appears set to leave Camp Nou at the end of the season, and there is also uncertainty over the future of Frenkie de Jong to consider, which means there will likely be need for two midfielders come next summer.
The only reason why Neves is not a Barcelona player already, apparently, is that the financial levers which the club triggered to ease their financial troubles recently didn’t cover all their needs, but they have an agreement in place with his agent Jorge Mendes over the size and the structure of the salary he’d be earning, as well as with Wolves over the size of the proposed transfer fee.
As for Neves himself, he recently said he felt ‘privileged’ to be linked with a club like Barcelona.
