New signings Jerome Boateng and Takashi Usami went through their paces for Bayern Munich for the first time in Sunday’s training session.

The pair joined in the session at the club’s training ground, with head coach Jupp Heynckes assisted by a translator when addressing Japan youth international Usami.

Boateng returns to the Bundesliga after a season Manchester City, having had stints for both Hertha Berlin and Hamburg prior to his move to the English Premier League.

The 22-year-old Germany international joins Bayern for an undisclosed amount, while Usami arrives on a season-long loan from J.League side Gamba Osaka.

The 19-year-old striker is Bayern’s first Japanese player, and the Bavarian club have the option to make his switch permanent at the end of the season should he impress.
