New deal for Joe Cole

It appears most likely that Chelsea’s midfielder Joe Cole will be in line for a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

One of the most consistent performers for Chelsea last season, Cole is likely to be rewarded for his consistent level of performance and his work ethic.

The twenty six year old has begun this new season where he left off last last season and has impressed new manager Luiz Felipe Scolari on Chelsea’s Asian tour.

Discussions between Cole and Chief Executive Peter Kenyon are due to commence next week where Cole’s weekly wage is likely to be increased from ₤60 000 to ₤80 000.
