New England Revolution coach Steve Nicol admits he could make a return to England and become a manager in the Premier league one day.

Nicol told liverpoolfc.tv: “I’ve no idea if I’ll manage in the Premier League.

“It’s easy to say I will but you don’t know. I do my best every day that I come to work. If things happen then great, if not then that’s fine too.”

He added on his contact with his former Liverpool teammates: “It’s quite easy to keep in touch to be honest.

“There’s always something happening and most of us are all involved in football anyway. In my case they might phone to ask about a player in the MLS or if something has happened with someone else, so I speak to a lot of the guys a fair bit.

“There’s Big Al (Hansen), Kenny (Dalglish), Beards (Peter Beardsley), Barnesy, Kevin McDonald – I’m still in regular contact with lots of the boys.

“The only thing is that I don’t get to go to the games like they do. I think the last time I was at Anfield was for the Marina Dalglish match. That was three years ago now and it feels like three weeks!

“I’d like to get back to see Rafa (Benitez) and the team in action but with my current job it’s simply not possible.”
