Looking to shore up their spot in the play-offs, a high-flying New England will welcome Orlando City to the Gillette Stadium in the early hours of Thursday.

Starting with the hosts, putting in another dominant display in their 2-0 win away at FC Cincinnati last time out, New England are enjoying arguably their brightest run in recent memory. Winning four of their last five MLS appearances, including a thumping 4-0 win at home to Vancouver earlier in the month, Head Coach Bruce Arena has seen his side enjoy a 10-match unbeaten run. Now bagging two or more goals in each of their last five outings, fans in Massachusetts will be most impressed by their form on home soil. Winning back-to-back matches in front of their own fans, Sunday’s hosts have also yet to taste defeat at the Gillette Stadium since the 25th of April.

As for the visitors, while Orlando City may have a US Open Cup semi-final to look forward to next month, the Purples once again struggled in their 1-0 loss at home to the Red Bulls last weekend. Largely outplayed for large spells of their matchup in Florida last time out, Head Coach James O’Connor has seen his side pick up just a single MLS victory in their last five attempts. Sadly for the struggling guests, it is also worth noting that they hold a very worrying record away at the Gillette Stadium. Orlando have never won a matchup in Massachusetts.
