(GSM) – The English FA has named David Bernstein as the new chairman in a board meeting on Wednesday morning.
The FA has been looking for a replacement for Lord Triesman following the latter’s sudden departure in May.
Former Arsenal vice-chairman David Deinhad has been among the favorites to land the role along with ex-Football League chairman David Sheepshanks.
But former Manchester City chairman Bernstein has been appointed after he was recommended by the nominations’ committee.
