Juventus has confirmed that both Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini have signed one-year extensions to remain at the club until at least next year. Buffon is set to be 43 years old by the time his new deal expires in 2021, which will mark 20 years since he initially joined the club. Chiellini, on the other hand, will be 35, and is about to begin his 16th year with the Old Lady.
Juventus always seem to have a nice blend of experience and youth on their books, and these two stalwarts aim to continue to build that reputation. Both men are still playing at the top of their game, and while there are no guarantees, you can bet the club will be interested in keeping hold of them in some way, shape or form beyond next season.
It certainly seems as if this is going to be a busy summer for the kings of Italian football.
