Kevin De Bruyne has confirmed that he is in talks with Manchester City over a new contract with the club.
While his current deal isn’t set to expire until 2023, the belief is that City want to tie the Belgian down for as long as they possibly can. De Bruyne continues to serve as one of the pillars of excellence at the Etihad, and it was during a recent interview with Belgian TV station VTM Nieuws where he made it clear that he wants to stay.
“I am happy in Manchester,” De Bruyne said. “I am at a good club. Good owners. We are a bit in talks – not advanced. At the moment I am doing the talks myself. “I would like to stay with the club, so it’s easy. If I didn’t want to stay, it would take someone to mediate. But when you want to stay, it’s not so difficult.”
