“We’ve talked about a long-term contract with the three of them – that’s a contract for next season, not just to get through these last few games,” Bruce said.
“We’ve had those talks with Andy, Manquillo and the young Longstaff as well. The talks are ongoing, but I believe it’s positive as far as Andy and Manquillo are concerned.”
Those are the words of Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce, as reported by Sky Sports, regarding the contract status of Javier Manquillo and Andy Carroll.
While it seems as if Longstaff is on the verge of leaving the club, the other two names involved appear to be edging closer and closer towards signing new deals. Many Newcastle fans would instead prefer to hear some news about the supposed takeover, but at the time of writing, the trail has gone cold in that department – and instead, the focus has turned back towards the contracts of current Magpies players.
