According to a recent report from AS, Luka Modric has come to terms with a new contract that’ll likely see him retire at Real Madrid.
The 35-year-old veteran has put himself in line for being known as one of the best midfielders of his generation in recent years, from his performances with Croatia at the World Cup to his unbelievable consistency with Real.
At one point it felt as if the former Tottenham star was destined to leave Spain in favour of something new, perhaps even a move to Inter Milan. Instead, he’s stuck it out and to this day is still one of the most influential players in Spanish football.
There’s no guarantee that this proposed new deal is going to be enough to keep him in Madrid for the remainder of his career, but based on some of his comments about his future, it seems quite likely at the very least.
