Desperate to get their Eastern Conference title push back on track, Domènec Torrent’s New York City side will welcome a drastically struggling Revolution side to Yankee Stadium
Starting with Torrent’s side, although The Sky Blues are coming off the back of a 2-1 loss away to Columbus Crew last time out and are without a win in their last four, NYC do hold a stellar record at Yankee Stadium. In fact, Thursday’s hosts have now not lost any matchup at home since the middle of February. One man to watch for the hosts will by NYC’s leading goalscorer Ismael Tajouri-Shradi. After finding the net last weekend, the 24-year-old now has three in his last four and also found the net twice against New England in the reverse fixture.
As for Brad Friedel’s New England side, after enduring an abysmal run of form since the start of June, The Revolution have now slipped out of the playoffs and have fallen down to seventh in the East. Coming off the back of a 1-1 draw with Portland Timbers last weekend, The Revs are now without a win in any competition since the first week of July. More worrying for Friedel’s side will be their form away from the Gillette Stadium. In fact, New England have now failed to win any of their last 11 matches on the road.
