Looking to mount a charge up the Eastern Conference, NYCFC will welcome Seattle Sounders to Yankee Stadium in the early hours of Thursday.

Starting with the hosts, putting in yet another eye-catching display and picking up an empathic 4-2 win at home to Eastern title contenders Philadelphia last weekend, the mood in NYCFC’s camp couldn’t be any higher. Under the guidance of former Manchester coach Domènec Torrent, the Sky Blues are currently enjoying a four-match winning run and are really starting to shine in the final third. Now unbeaten in their last 13 matches and with a US Open Cup semi-final to look forward to later this month, New York have now bagged two or more goals in seven of their last eight matchups.

As for the visitors, while a hard-fought 1-0 win over Vancouver may have seen Seattle losing run come to an end, Head Coach Brian Schmetzer has still seen his side drastically struggle of late. With their victory last weekend just their first since the middle of May and now free-falling out of the Western title picture, a huge part of their recent issues has been their continued struggles away from Century Link. Suffering a 2-1 loss in their last matchup on the road, the Greens are enduring a three-match losing streak outside of Washington and have also recorded just a single away win in 2019.
