New York and PSG keen on Xavi
New York Red Bulls and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Barcelona star Xavi Hernandez, reports AS.
The MLS side would like to see the Spain international join their ranks at the end of the season and they are hoping Thierry Henry can persuade his former teammate to join him in New York.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on the 33-year-old as they hope to sign a high-profile midfielder at the earliest opportunity.
It remains to be seen whether the experienced midfielder would consider leaving Barcelona, although he recently hinted he could leave Camp Nou in the future.
Xavi Hernandez has spent his entire career up to date at Barcelona, making a total of 458 La Liga appearances for the club and scoring 55 goals.
He has a contract until June 2016 at Camp Nou, but latest reports are suggesting he could quit the Catalans at the end of the season.
Napoli eyeing M’Vila
French daily newspaper L’Equipe understands that Napoli are pondering a move for Rubin Kazan midfielder Yann M’Vila.
The Azzurri have made signing a new holding midfielder their priority in the January window, but they have so far failed in their quest.
And with Radja Nainggolan moving to Roma and the deal for Maxime Gonalons hitting a standstill, Napoli have turned their attention to Yann M’Vila.
The Serie A side have already enquired about the possibility of signing the Frenchman and were in turn quoted a €15 million asking price.
The 23-year-old has finally managed to nail down a regular starting berth at Rubin Kazan, but it is believed he would be tempted by a move to Stadio San Paolo.
M’Vila is still hoping to make France World Cup squad and is aware that may not be possible if he remains in Russia.
Zenit in big money bid for Rodrigo
Zenit St Petersburg are readying a mega money proposal for Benfica forward Rodrigo Moreno, according to A Bola.
It is no secret the Russian giants are searching for attacking reinforcements, and they appear to have made the 22-year-old their number one target.
A Bola has suggested that Zenit are prepared to offer up to €35 million for the highly rated footballer, which is a proposal the Eagles are unlikely to refuse.
The same source has revealed that Benfica chairman Luis Felipe Vieira and FIFA agent Jorge Mendes travelled to London yesterday to meet the representatives of the Russian club, which would suggest an agreement is on the horizon.
Rodrigo has shown a great deal of promise since he arrived at Estadio da Luz from Real Madrid, and has since bagged 20 goals in 54 league appearances.
After narrowly missing out on the Primeira Liga title last term, Benfica are now 13/10 favourites for the coveted trophy.
