No, not that Jorgensen!
Not to be confused with Huddersfield Town centre-back, this Mathias Jorgensen is an 18-year-old from Odense BK who has gained attention from the United States.
The MLS side New York Red Bulls want to add depth to their attacking unit and have identified Danish starlet striker as their top transfer target, according to reports coming from B.T.
According to the report, Red Bulls and Odense have already reached an agreement over a transfer fee for the youngster, who is expected to be on his way to America in coming days.
Jorgensen is expected to provide support to the 34-year-old Bradley Wright-Phillips who scored 17 or more goals in each of his last five seasons with the New York-based club. Having featured heavily in the MLS, the ageing forward will require a solid backup even though Red Bulls also have Brian White and Aanatole Abang on their squad list.
Mathias Jorgensen broke into the Odense first team this season after starring in the U-19s side where he bagged 7 goals in 4 appearances. He took some time adapting to life in the big league, however, and only scored 2 goals in 13 appearances this season.
The youngster was previously linked with Borussia Monchengladbach and even had a trial with the Bundesliga outfit.
