The Sunday Telegraph is reporting that New York Red Bulls are considering a move for Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
With the midfielder’s future at Anfield in doubt, the MLS side appear set to offer him a lucrative contract if he decides to leave the Reds.
According to the Sunday Telegraph, New York Red Bulls have included Gerrard on their ‘discovery list’, meaning they will have the first option on the footballer ahead of other MLS teams.
The MLS outfit hope that their sporting director and former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier will be able to persuade Gerrard to move to the United States.
The former England international will be out of contract in the summer, although he has been offered a new two-year deal.
However, with Liverpool largely struggling on all fronts this season, Gerrard could decide to leave his boyhood club after 27 years.
The Anfield icon has so far made 489 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring 114 goals.
