Newcaslte agree Remy deal

Mirror Football is suggesting that Newcastle United have agreed a £10 million deal with Marseille for their striker, Loic Remy and he will be heading to St James’ Park in January.

The Frenchman is regarded as one of the top young strikers around at the moment and it seems as though the Magpies have fought off interest from West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur to secure his services.

The Ligue 1 side valued the 25-year-old at £20 million when Spurs were keen on him last summer, but with his contact running-out, they are now ready to cash in on one of their most prized assets.

Although his goal scoring record is not the best, Remy offers a lot more to the side and could be key in helping Newcastle kick-start their English Premier League season.

If the deal goes through as expected, then it is thought that Demba Ba will be on his way out of the North East.

Ba of course has a £7 million release clause on his contract and it is looking more and more likely that he will be leaving the club in the New Year.

It looks as though there could be plenty of business at Newcastle in the January transfer window.
