With Newcastle having confirmed the signing of former Montpellier winger Remy Cabella and ex-Ajax forward Siem De Jong, while Feyenoord right-back Daryl Janmaat is completing a medical with the North-East club, Alan Pardew side’s has improved greatly from last season.

They are set to lose Mathieu Debuchy, but have replaced him with Janmaat, who impressed in this summer’s World Cup with the Netherlands national team. Attacking options was the main priority of Newcastle as they lost three attackers from the side this summer, while a fourth in Hatem Ben Arfa who could be sold.

So Pardew was quick to sign talented winger Remy Cabella and Siem De Jong to boost their goalscoring options, and Betfair are giving odds of 17/2 for Newcastle to surprise many and finish in the top-six of the Premier League next season as a result of their good spending in the summer transfer market.

In 2013/14, Newcastle finished in 10th place after a second half to the campaign to forget. They’ll be hoping to finish a lot higher in 2014/15.
