Had someone offered Luton Town a point at St. James’ Park ahead of the match on Saturday, they would’ve accepted gladly, no doubt.
However, having led by two goals at one point in the second half, they surely feel disappointed not to have taken all three.
Sean Longstaff broke the deadlock for the Magpies within seven minutes. Gabriel Osho equalized in the 21st, but Longstaff struck again just two minutes later. Ross Barkley leveled again five minutes before the break. Carlton Morris scored for Forest from the spot just before the hour-mark to put his team ahead for the first time, and their lead was increased three minutes later through Elijah Adebayo. Kieran Trippier reduced it in the 67th, and Harvey Barnes set the final score at 4-4 with a fine low strike from outside the box.
