Newcastle close on Cabella

Eurosport is reporting that Newcastle are pulling all the stops to sign French midfielder Remy Cabella from Montpellier.

The player has already expressed his desire to move to English Premier League and the Magpies look determined to add him to their ranks by the end of the month.

Newcastle have yet to make a concrete proposal for the midfielder’s services, but the latest dismal run of results could persuade the club officials to step up their interest.

It is believe that Montpellier are prepared to sell, but they would require between €12m and €15m for their prized asset.

With la Paillade currently on the verge of slipping into the relegation zone, Remy Cabella looks set to leave the sinking ship and move to England’s elite division.

The 23-year-old has further established his reputation as one of France’s most talented midfielders, having managed 6 goals and 3 assists in 19 Ligue 1 outings this season.
