Newcastle close in on Milik

According to a recent report from Corriere dello Sport, Newcastle United are closing in on the signing of Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik.

The Magpies had previously withdrawn their interest in the Polish international but now, they’ve revived their attempts to bring him over to Tyneside.

Newcastle have had a mixed start to the new Premier League campaign thus far and while they do have a handful of impressive stars in their first team squad, some wonder whether or not they need to bring a few more in before the end of the summer transfer window.

Milik is the kind of striker who has the potential to completely reinvent Newcastle in an attacking sense, and if he can work well with Callum Wilson, anything could happen.

Alas, they aren’t going to be the only club in the mix to sign him, and that race will continue to heat up in the days to come.
