Newcastle are on the verge of signing Chilean defender Mauricio Isla from Juventus, reports El Mercurio.
The Magpies have been on the lookout for a new right sided defender after Mathieu Debuchy joined Arsenal and the search appears to be over.
According to Chilean newspaper El Mercurio, Newcastle are set to agree an £8 million deal for the highly rated full-back Mauricio Isla.
The Bianconeri recently acquired the second half of the player’s contract from Udinese for €4.5 million and having earlier paid €9 million for a co-ownership deal, they will lose some money in the process, but the club officials still managed to get a good price for the player who has failed to impress in Turin.
Newcastle have already signed Jack Colback, Ayoze Perez, Siem de Jong, Remy Cabella, Emmanuel Riviere and Daryl Janmaat this summer, and now look a good bet to finish in Premier League top 10 at 5/4.
